What we collect, and what we don’t.

What we collect

If you submit the Batch 001 form, we store the answers you give us:

• Your first name and email address.
• What you build, and when focused work is hardest to start.
• Which launch price you selected in our research question, or that you were not sure.
• Your optional free-text answer about what Motive 001 would need to get right.
• The page you submitted from, and any campaign tags (utm_source and similar) present in the link you followed.
• The version of this policy you consented to, and the time you consented.

What we deliberately do not collect

• Your IP address, precise location or device fingerprint.
• Payment details. Nothing on this site is for sale.
• Any special category or health information.
• Anything at all if you browse the site without submitting the form.

To limit automated submissions we briefly rate-limit repeat submissions. That check uses a one-way hash of the connecting address held in memory only, which is discarded within minutes and never written to the database.

Cookies and analytics

This site sets no cookies and loads no third-party scripts, fonts, embeds or trackers. No analytics provider is currently connected. The site is built with an analytics interface that records only anonymous events — such as a call-to-action being clicked, or a form being submitted — and by design cannot include your name, email address, free-text answers or consent data. If we connect a provider we will update this page first, and we will not introduce tracking that would require a consent banner without saying so here.

Where your answers are stored

The site runs on Cloudflare Workers, and form responses are written to a Cloudflare D1 database hosted in Oceania. Only our server code can reach that database — it is not exposed to your browser, and there is no public route that can read stored responses. Cloudflare processes standard server request logs on our behalf as our hosting provider.

How we use your answers

We use them to decide what to build and test next, and to contact you about research, product testing and launch updates for Motive. We summarise responses in aggregate for our own product and coursework analysis. We will not publish your name, email address or quote your free-text answer without asking you first. We do not sell or share your responses with third parties for their own marketing.

How long we keep them

We keep research responses for up to 24 months from the date you submit them, then delete them. If you ask us to delete them sooner, we will.

Your choices

You can ask us at any time to show you what we hold, correct it, delete it, or stop emailing you. Email hello@buildwithmotive.com and a real person will action it. Every email we send includes an unsubscribe option.

Motive operates from New Zealand, and handles personal information in line with the New Zealand Privacy Act 2020.

Children

This site and the Batch 001 research group are intended for people aged 16 and over. Please do not submit the form if you are younger than that.

Changes

If this policy changes materially we will publish a new consent version and note the change here. The version you agreed to is stored with your response.
